About the Founder
Beatrice Carter Founder/President
Hi my name is Beatrice Carter, I am the founder and CEO of Kicks for Kids which was established in 2015. As many of my peers and family members know, I have a passion for people and giving back to my community. At the age of 15 with help from my mother we created "Helping Hands". The Helping Hands Program fed the homeless, mentored troubled youth and provided them with counseling, and provided book bags to children returning to school. "Bundle Up" another program provided winter hats, scarves and coats.
I believe that it truly enriches a community when people find it in their hearts to give and be a help to those in need. As a mother of 3 school age children I undrestand the needs of the youth and the importance of having proper shoes/sneakers for school and that is why I started Kicks for Kids.
We are a Non Profit 501c3 Organization and for the past 3 years we have purchased over 700 pairs of sneakers for children whose parents cannot afford to do so. Our mission is to make sure children do not have to suffer in academics or sports due to wearing worn out, mismatched or poor fitting shoes/sneakers.

United States Navy Veteran
Hi I am Steven Vannoy Vice President of Sales at Kyocera/Duplitron for over 33 years and World renowned photographer. Three of my great passions in life are travel, photography and golf. I believe that travel broadens one's view of the world, experiencing other cultures and meeting people from other communities and other countries and seeing the beauty and sometimes ugliness of the world has helped me understand that all of our lives are interconnected.
This has made me better appreciate my home, culture and the need to get involved in my own community since ending my Navy career back in the early 80's. Kicks for Kids is an organization I am truly proud to be apart of. I can sympothize with the youth of today considering the pressure from society to maintain a certain image.
Forming positive relationships and connecting with the young people is something I truly enjoy. Seeing the joy and excitement that the children have when they pick out a new pair of sneakers makes being a part of Kicks for Kids so rewarding. Turning each moment into an unforgettable memory is what working with youth is all about!
